I postulate that when a group of suras that have a common thread, ayas, words or letters have a sum of 114 that, within the context of the thread, they form a complete group. Examples:
1. The number of suras in the Quran is 114. This sets the definition of a complete set. 2.The total of the sura numbers that start with أَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا is 114. I postulate that this is a complete set of instructions for believers to do good deeds.
3. The number of letter qaf in the two suras that have the letter on its own at their beginning is 57 in surat Shura and 57 in surat Qaf for a total of 114. This is probably symbolic of the Quran itself.
